Serbian citizens can now use their Dina card abroad

Serbian citizens can now use their national payment card – Dina – abroad, thanks to the strategic cooperation between the National Bank of Serbia and Discover Financial Services, which operates the Discover Global Network. The use of the domestic card abroad will be enabled through the co-branded Dina-Discover card, accepted at around 70 million points of sale and ATMs in more than 200 countries and territories around the world.
As explained by the National Bank of Serbia, this initiative significantly increases the functionality of the domestic card, enabling citizens to travel more simply, securely and conveniently. Instead of relying on multiple payment cards or cash, users will be able to make payments and withdraw money directly from their Dina card, wherever the Discover network is available.
This cooperation has multiple benefits – not only for consumers, but also for the domestic economy. A key advantage is that the processing center for the Dina card will be located in Serbia, which means that all commissions and related fees will remain in the country, contributing to economic development and increasing the income of domestic financial institutions.
The added value is reflected in the opening of new business opportunities for Serbian merchants. Thanks to the partnership with Discover, Serbian businesses – especially small and medium-sized enterprises – will gain access to a global network of clients from the USA, Japan, Brazil, Turkey, India and numerous other countries, who use Discover and partner cards. This opens up space for increasing turnover, expanding the customer base and stronger entry into the international market. The introduction of the possibility of international use of the Dina card represents a significant step forward in the development of the domestic payment infrastructure and another step towards strengthening the financial sovereignty of Serbia.
